A First Taste: Pluto in Aquarius, the Call Begins

In March 2023, I sat in ceremony with astrologer Virginia Rosenberg, just as Pluto was stepping into Aquarius for the first time in over two centuries. I sat, I listened, I felt—and honestly, I had no idea what was coming for me.
At that point, I was already aware of many dynamics in my birth chart. I felt the enormity of Pluto’s move into Aquarius on a collective level—this vast shift in consciousness, power, and systems. But I hadn’t yet grasped what it would stir in me personally.
Looking back now through my journals, I can see the threads—sprinkles of insight, moments of inspiration, quiet connections. What seemed like small beginnings were actually seismic. That was the opening. That was the call.
Pluto at 1° Aquarius: A Personal Portal
Pluto first reached 1° Aquarius on March 23, 2023, where it hovered briefly before retrograding back into Capricorn in June 2023. That short window—less than three months—was a cosmic teaser. It gave us a first taste of the long transformation to come, both collectively and individually. For me, it was subtle at first. But now I see its weight.
When we look at transits in astrology, we are invited to look at where that planet lands in our natal chart—what it touches. You check for conjunctions (planets or points it lands directly on), oppositions (180° across the wheel), and squares (90° angles), which tend to bring the most friction and transformation. Sextiles (60°) and trines (120°) bring flow and ease. But in truth, all of it is supportive. The universe, God, Source—it’s always offering what we need to evolve into deeper alignment with our truth.
For me, Pluto at 1° Aquarius was—and still is—activating a lot.
1° Aquarius: My Sun and Venus sit here, in my sixth house. The Sun rules my chart (I’m a Leo rising), so this hits directly at my core identity, how I shine, how I love, and how I serve.
Opposition: My Mars at 1° Leo, also in the sixth house—this is fire meeting fire, activation, confrontation, power.
Square: My Ch
iron at 1° Taurus, bringing in the deep wound and the potential for profound healing.
I haven’t yet looked into potential trines or sextiles to 1° Aquarius in my chart, but I suspect there’s more unfolding. (Update: yes! I have a Trine of my natal Saturn in Gemini in the first house of my placidus chart. More to come on this as I have time to reflect.)
These aspects in my chart form an intensely personal T-Square, as it is known in astrology. And in March 2023, what came through wasn’t a whisper—it was a call to step into service in a new way.

A New Devotion: Stepping Into Service
During a guided meditation around that time, I got the tap on the shoulder. The message was clear:
It’s time. Time to step into your next form of service. Time to lead through your gifts—in community, in circle.
Up until then, I had been fully immersed in my first career—one I loved, one that was deeply aligned. But Pluto doesn’t ask. Pluto compels. Quoting Virginia Rosenberg, "Pluto is the planet of inevitability." And what emerged from that first taste of Pluto in Aquarius was the knowing that my work in the world was about to evolve.
This blog is the beginning of a series of tracing my most current and potent journey of transformation. Of noticing the moments when something deeper began speaking through me, through my chart, through the collective rhythm. There’s more to come—because Pluto will dance over 1° Aquarius a total of five times before moving forward for good.
If you're experiencing your own transformation and would like my support, please read more about the possibility in Wayfinder.
And, I'd love to hear what this blog stirred in you and what else you'd like to read about.
xoxo,
Jaime
